The Mississippi River enriches our lives – it is home to birds, fish and wildlife and provides a place for people to relax and enjoy nature. Our economy depends on the river and the Mississippi provides drinking water to more than a million Minnesotans.
While the upper Mississippi River is still relatively clean, it is increasingly vulnerable to new and growing threats of pollution. We believe prevention is the best solution. If we take action now, we can protect and preserve the upper Mississippi River and leave a legacy of clean water for future generations.
